help! front sight on my marlin is falling off!

    help! front sight on my marlin is falling off!

    my marlin papoose front sight is falling off, this sight is different since it has a full hood, i dont see any screws but its all loose! how do i tighten it?

    il try to take a decent photo.

    its upside down but it shows the gap i have and i dont see any screws!

      Looks like it is just loose in the dovetail slot.
      Fixes:
      Easiest but may not hold: Penetrating type thread lock.
      Harder but more likely to fix it right: remove hood and sight, peen flat or edges of the dovetail groove to distort and raise some metal for a tighter fit. You should have to tap the sight back in with a small punch and hammer.

        nevermind, i figured it out, i had to pull of the sight hood, tap out the sight, and tighten the small screw, but not til i use some loctite!

          You are too quick! I have lost more than one of the front sights. One drop of loc tite has them staying put tho. DR

            Yeah, I hate that too. You ask a question, then you figure it out before the troops show up to rescue you. Like, 'Why did I ask it in the first place'?
