Saw this one on amazon and it got good reviews. I am new to this so I don't know anything about scopes. Any information is helpful.

i have the Primary Arms 4-16X44 Illuminated Mil Dot Scope, its a little more than you want to pay but i can tell you its worth every penny at $160. i bought mine when it wasn't on sale for about 200 and absolutely love it. right now it sits on top of my 10/22. it has positive clicks and very clear crisp glass. heres the link.
Quality rifle scopes including LPVO 1-6x, 1-8x variable power, and long-range optics. Primary Arms ACSS reticles, Vortex, Leupold, and more brands.
they also have a 3-9x40 scope for $80. i have no experience with this product but im sure based on the quality of there other items i have its a great scope.

check out the bsa sweet .22 scope, it comes with 3 different drums for different bullet weights (36gr, 38gr, and 40gr) so you can calculate the bullet drop past 50 yards. comes with a lifetime warranty too! only complaint about it is the crosshairs are kind of thick.Comment

I don't recommend anything under $100 but the Weaver Classic 2.5-7x28 Rimfire (review, review) is a great little scope that unlike the cheapies should last you a lifetime and can be had for $130. If you want a bit more power a Sightron S1 3-9x32 Rimfire is another excellent $130 scope that should last you a lifetime. I highly recommend that you pony up the extra $30.

My wife has this scope on her Rem 597... excellent value. Nice and steady, built well, cheap enough and decent warranty. BTW her 597 is the bull-barrel model with the sweet wood stock- one of the most beautiful and reliable .22s I have ever shotSaw this one on amazon and it got good reviews. The Simmons .22 mag scope is the undisputed best buys for a under $50 scope. Some however dont like the rings that come with it and admittedly they are kinda cheapie.
I use that scope on one of my .22's with this set of rings and they hold rock solid. http://www.amazon.com/UTG-Airgun-Med...=cm_cr_pr_pb_t
Scope and better rings in your hands for under $75 is a great little .22 combo.Last edited by Danhood; 01-01-2012, 4:06 AM.If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there would be a shortage of fishing poles.Comment

thanks for the suggestion on the rings. sound like a good idea to me. ill be ordering some later today.Comment

Those are the same rings I used with the Sweet 22 3-9 on my Henry pump. I wish someone would make a Weaver/Picatinny rail that would fit directly on my vintage Savage rifles Weaver sidemounts and Weaver N mounts limit your choicesThe Simmons .22 mag scope is the undisputed best buys for a under $50 scope.
