    I'm with you 100%!

I just got done testing out the new lead-free 17HM2 from Hornady and it's very accurate. It's a blast to shoot and knocks the snot out of the ground squirrels!

      100% agree!!

I have a Savage MarkII that sure likes the Eley rounds far superior to the .22LR, of course at a cost ammo. Fun to shoot and honestly, 0 to 200 it really isn;t fair. Those squirrels don't have a chance!! The HM2 is like a friggin' laser.

This statement makes absolutly no sence. The 17HMR can't even come close to the performance of the .223

I'm guessing the OP means price wise. OP can reload .223 for about the same cost as factory .17 HMR.

I found out about .17 Mach 2 not too long ago on the M&P 15-22 forum. I'm really interested! I'm most likely getting the Savage bolt action that someone mentioned already.

I was refering to the fact that the 17HMR offered more velocity/range than the 17m2, but due to cost of the 17HMR, I'd just break out my 223 which offers far more than the 17HMR.

I have heard rumors of the lead free 17M2, but still havent seen any myself. Where did you find some to test? Ive used the NTX in HMR but have still not seen any in M2. I still think that lead free 17M2 will be the premium squirrel killer here in the lead free zone. its 2/3s the performance at 1/3 the price of simular 17HMR. DR

I got some from Midsouth and Graf & Sons.

It does very well in my CZ 452.
