Im thinking about building one using actual mil spec spare parts upper + lower with cmmg dedicated barrel and kit. What are your thoughts and advice.

Not sure where the drama is here.... Unless you are talking about a US issue surplus parts kit..... I think for a .22lr you should just get the most affordable lower you can, and talk to Shadow about a complete upper...."Cum catapultae proscriptae erunt tum soli proscripti catapultas habebunt."

If you have all the parts minus the barrel and bcg, you can save some money. But it's real hard to build one for what I can get you a complete upper for if you are buying parts.

I just got the complete upper from CMMG. The bolt hold opener isn't 100% but overall it works well.Kevin
