Colt M4 .22 L.R

Hello again Cal-gunners. I have recently acquired a Colt M4 carbine .22lr version from another great cal-gunner. It came with two 10 rd Walther made mags. But... Now of course I need more.
Im curious as to if there are any AR mags designated for .22lr that wont work in this particular firearm (Firearm Markings: Colt M4 carbine .22L.R), or can I just purchase any AR mags designated for .22lr like cinear, black dog I think tactical solutions makes ar22 mags, ect? Any clarification on the subject would be greatly appreciated, especially if you own one of these rifles and know where I can purchase mags and what brans you use and why. Im especally curious about reliability as well as perhaps some reliable/cost effective options.
Also if anybody has an opinion or any usefull info on the rifle itself I would appreciate it... And I know about Google but Cal-Guns a much more entertaining way of acquiring information. Plus it gives all of us drunk Friday nighters something to do.

I purchased a couple of the Colt magazines when I picked up my M4 ops. My dealer told me he had not heard of any aftermarket magazines available at this time. The magazines are very well built, and function flawlessly, definitely no regrets on the purchase.

Thank you guys. I did find out that they do take specific magazines. Colt/Umarex USA makes them and i saw some made by HK.
Just a heads up for other Colt M4 .22lr rifles, Tracy Rifle and Pistol had the Colt and HK 10/20 versions. the Colt/umarex mags were $25.99 and the HK version were $29.99. calegalmags.com also had the 10 round Umarex USA mags as well as 30 rd rebuilds. I cant remember the prices from calegalmags but they were reasonable. $33.00 for the rebuilds and i think about $25.00 for the 10 rd mags.
Kelster: I put a few hundred remington thunderbolts through the two mags I already owned with zero issues. reminds me of the reliability of the box 10/22 mags. Im quite happy with it for a cheap training rifle/plinker.

Funny thing is, mine will not feed Remington's. It jams about every 4-5 shots. It really likes Federal 550's though.

how to take out trigger assembly

I want to take out the trigger assembly to have it worked on, anyone know which pins to take out and proper procedure for this? I don't want to scracth or marr ones which may be actual pins? Also, the selector switch and magazine release seem connected. this is for a Umarex/Colt 22 m4.

Our local Big 5 Sporting Goods had the 10-rounders for $25 ea. I haven't had any issues with them in mine.

I'll have to check my local big 5. I haven't been in the store for a while but i see the Colt M4 .22lr rifles in there adds quite often. It never dawned on me to look for the mags there... Brain fart.
All of the Colt/Umaerx mags, which are all stamped Walther on the floor plate, have work great, I haven't had any issues with the mags or the rifle with now approx 1,000 rds through her. Though I kinda wish that I got the S&W 15/22 due to its popularity and versatility, (which i assume has been acquired through its reliability), I am quite happy with the performance of the Colt M4 carbine .22LR.

FYI - My local Big 5 has them pretty much hidden on the gun wall itself. The store itself is pretty packed, so if you don't see make sure you ask for them.

Only the umarex mags will work. No aftermarket mags are compatible.

The Colt M4 22 is a good gun, but difficult to clean and work on. Search on this forum for good info on disassembly of the trigger and bolt groups - warning, it's not easy! I also bought spare mags at Big 5. Their 20% coupons will work on the mags - sometimes they have them hidden in with the air-soft stuff. Good luck!

I think it is MSRP for $550. They sell it for about $450. Which is the same price as the S&W MP15-22. Not bad..
