What scope for Taurus M62 pump? HELP!

I have a Taurus M62 pump action rifle that my uncle gave me when I was a kid. I absolutely love this wonderful little pea shooter. It's extremely accurate, and 100% reliable.
My uncle now has a son of his own and I want the little guy to learn with it.

I have the scope mount attached, but haven't decided what scope to get.

My question to you guys is what scope should I put on her?
I dont want a red dot scope, and I don't want anything too big since this rifle is pretty thin to begin with.
I figure someone on here has to have one with a scope on it.

The scope in the pic below just looks a little top heavy. Great scope, just doesn't look balanced on this thin rifle. Perhaps something thinner and closer to the barrel.

    Let me know your ideas!

    Thanks guys

I have a 4x bb gun scope on my Henry H001. I think it was $8 at walmart. But if its for a little kid, it might not work. Kids can have a hard time with eye relief. I put a red dot on my sons 10/22.

I had the Model 62 in 22wmr. Seems I had to find a long eye relief model, kinda like you find on scout rifles.

Put the front sight back on and have the little guy learn with open sights.

He'll be a better shooter and learn a valuable skill.
It cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.
You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and cannot be lent.

Thank you GBran. I'll remember to look for a scout scope.

I couldn't agree more with the importance of training with iron sights. This Taurus will be the second option for them. My grandfathers original Winchester 62 with iron sights is what they will be using as well, just thought a scoped option could be fun as well.

If a scope is a must have on this rifle try the Burris Timberline in 4X. Very long eye relief and a straight tube. You can probably put both scope rings in front of the adjustment tower and get the rear bell just ahead of the ejection port.
