The Cricket was one of my kids first rifles..Had a Bipod and scope and they liked it..It is kinda a pain sometimes getting a round in the chamber..Still have it but it has not been shot in years.......

        My $.02

I do have a crickett rifle for my grandkids (when my wife isn't shooting it). But recently found what I think is a better solution. I got a Mossberg Half-pint Plinkster. It is a cut down version of their larger bolt action .22, the 802 Plinkster. The thing about this rifle is that it comes with a single shot plug. So, as sold, it is a nice youth sized single shot. However, as your kids get better with firearms you remove the plug and use a magazine for a Mossberg 802. That gives you a youth sized 10 shot repeater. Best of both worlds.
