    Scope for S&W M&P 15-22

So I am new to shooting and just bought a M&P 15-22 today. I want to get a inexpensive red dot scope for it somewhere between 30-70 bucks. I dont know much about scopes besides from what I have read online. Any suggestions? The gun will be used mainly for target practice at the range. Any suggestions?

        I would go with

        A

Vortex spark also comes with a 2x magnifier $200
        Or
        Primary arms micro dot $100

just learn to shoot with iron sights first, then get a fixed magnification scope.....tru glow red dot also works for the cheapies - good luck & have fun!
            I mainly shoot .22lr, 9mm,45 acp, 357 & 38, 12G, 7.62x39, .308, .223/556, 7.62x54r, 300 win mag, 8x57

For your price range, I recommend Bushnell TRS-25. Otherwise get Vortex Strikefire for 150. Great red dot!

I have Red dots on my Ruger SR-22 and Colt M4, but installed a Leapers Bug Buster 3-9X32 on my M&P. It works great, I usually shoot it at the 50 and 100 yard ranges.

I have and like this one: http://www.leapers.com/prod_detail.p...tus=&mtrack=6m

I like the quick release weaver ring, moves quickly from my rifle to my pistol. Only one ring but solid as a rock. I think I paid $50 + free shipping from OpticsPlanet.

being that you are new to shooting, for $60 id recommend one of these:

                      one of these

                      and one of these

starting with a scope will spoil you and make you a worse shooter in the long run. buy ammo, use iron sights, when you feel that you are proficient with your gun, then buy a scope.

learn the weapon and how to use. shoot bench rested, standing, sitting, kneeling, and prone. i know a scope looks cool and its nice to see your shots a little further down range, but you will be happier later when you can confidently say that you are a good shot.

The Primary arms reflex sight is supposed to be pretty good for its price. $75 iirc

Thanks for all the sugestions. I think I have settled on the primary arms. Also I do plan to learn to shoot with the sights but the scope will be a Christmas gift frm someone so why not get it now right.

^ This. My first gun was a 15-22 as well and I'm still using the iron sights and have gone through more than 1500 rounds using Blazer bulk 525 packs and the 500 packs. Out of all the rounds, only 1 FTF and it worked on the second try. IMO i would just buy more ammo cause you'll run out of ammo pretty quick

As long as you can co-witness you can still shoot with the irons. All you have to do is turn off the RDS.

I have RDS on my ARs, 15/22 and my Sig 522, but I shoot irons half the time.

Some shots are more fun to shoot with the other system and vise versa.
