I have and recommend a Savage bolt action. I have a 93 FVSS XP which has a stainless steel bull barrel and a synthetic stock. Very smooth operating rifle. I think Turners and maybe Big 5 have this, or similar models on sale on a semi regular basis.

just checked Big 5, no 22WMR, just lots of 22LR, heading to Turners tomorrow, thanks for the input, I would love to get a CZ but can't spend that much right now,that semi of there's is nice,

I have a Savage 93 BTVS, Marlin 925M and a Remington 597M that's finally acting right after some work. I like them all and may pick up something else down the road. Everything I've heard about CZ's has been positive also.

As bronco77 said, they are around $350 (maybe $370). Turners has the blued version in .17HMR (no scope) on sale in their winter sale book for $250. You might go in and ask if they can cut you a deal on a 93 FVSS XP or ask when they will be on sale again. I too have a savage 93 and with a tasco world class scope I have a sub $500 tack driver. With the right ammo im doing 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards...keep in mind im not the best shot too.
