22 conversion kit on mil spec 1911

Ok... This weekend I will be buying my first personal firearm. My family has many weapons, but this is my first. It will be a 1911 springfield. I want to have a 22 version of the 1911. The question I have: what is better, the conversion kit or just buying a new 22 at nearly the same price?

I would like to put a LARGE amount of rounds thru this gun and get muscle memory . That means I would like the exact same grip/trigger. But at the same time I'm not sure what kind of wear it will add to the the unit. The stupid limit on buying multiple guns in a month, and going thru gun jail twice are minor.

    I'm interested in everyone's opinion.

As said 2 guns are better than 1 and Springfield does not have and does not suggest using a conversion kit on their 1911s. My suggestion to you is look into the GSG 1911-22. Their not much more than a conversion kit, parts interchangeable with standard 1911s and are fun to shoot.
