    10/22 sight

hey all I have yet another 1022 question.
On my third trip to the range I still cant zero my sights. Left to right its dead on but up and down is where I am having the problem its shooting high (and I have taken care to properly aline my sight picture) I have my rear sight as low as it will go (its on the barrel and its a compact with those fire sights) and its shooting about 5" high at the 25, 3-4" at the 50, and 1-2" at the 75 yard.

So I called Williams (the sight maker) and they said they make two front sights taller than mine but suggested the first of the two being 3/64" taller from 13/32" to 29/64" or .406 to .45. The next up would be the .5 which is the one I think I need given how far off the rifle shoots and that the rear is maxed out to give some room to adjust. Also I found out that the sight set they sell for after market is considerably higher than the one I have its a .53 I dont know if thats because it may be used on a standard barrel length or if they have a different contour or what they dont say.

On to the question what should I do get the .45 or the .50 or call williams and get more info?

And if any one can point me to a way to figure out what hight I need that would be great too. thanks in advance

I wouldnt bother with any of them and get yourself a set of Tech Sights. You can get the 100 model both front and rear for $59 shipped! It will make shooting your rifle much more fun and more accurate since you will increase your sight radius. Not to mention the sights are far better that the factory ones.
