I know it's low price but any thoughts on the Phoenix 22 on sale at Turner's as a plinker.

They are cheap, they work ok, and are easy to mod to defeat the California required features. Accuracy isn't on par with rugar or buckmark but you wouldn't expect that for the price. There was a thread about them last time they had them on sale use the search function.Comment

I have one. They're great guns! I have the Rangemaster deluxe edition though. It has both the 5 and 3 inch barrel. Two mags, cleaning kit, case, a great plinker. I love it, but need money to fund a Sigma .40 I'm picking up this Saturday, so it is going for sale in the private firearms sale section. Look out for it. You're better off getting the one I'll be selling, for a couple dollars more, you'll get one extra mag with extended grip, carrying case with cleaning kit, extra followers for the LRHO feature that I bought separately, ammo, two barrels both the 5 and 3 inch, and you don't pay TAX! PM me if interested.Comment

I bought one. I was shocked that it even worked for that kind of money. I have hit golf balls at 20 feet with that pos. It works better that the Smith/Walter P22 I bought and sent back to Smith 4 times for warrenty repair.sigpicComment

I've been on a bit of a mouse gun/Saturday Night Special bender lately, and I couldn't resist buying one at that price! Besides, I'm supporting a California firearms manufacturer as well, so it's win-win! I'll see if it's any good next week!
Hey, that Rangemaster Deluxe that aaaslayer will be selling might be the ticket for you!You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
Come on...what harm??

I have one. It's a safe queen now. It's nearly impossible to find magazines for it and when I did, they are too tight and require some hefty force to get them out of the mag well.
I thought it would be a great plinker too but when I can't get the mags out with no effort, well, 10 rds of .22 doesn't last very long.Comment

hefty force only means you did not press the mag release button when putting the mag in. You are crushing it past the mag catch. Try pressing the mag release then it will slide on by. Then tap it home. Just a tap.
To the OP , buy 2, learn how to work them and enjoy.Last edited by Coyote Brown; 12-07-2011, 10:49 AM.Comment

Mags were every where at the gun show.
The complainer must be talking about Turners. Turners will sell the pistol then tell you they will never carry mags for it. Smaller mom and pop shops that sell a
Product usually offer support items. It's customer service that Turners is not interested in.
Can't wait til Dicks sporting goods , and Wallyworld suck the life out of the heartless Turners.Comment
