kassnar .22

I was given a few guns by my dad a while ago, and one of them is a kassnar .22. It looks like a goofy copy of an ar15. It's kind of a pain in the *** to take apart and even worse to re assemble. While cleaning the bolt area, the little ear of the saftey broke off (i have no idea how, I was nowhere near the safety, it actually took me 15 mins tofigure out where the piece cams from.) This gun doesn't seem to be the greatest, but it is kinda cool, springloaded stock, flashgaurd is bolted to the end of the barrel. It's also made in the philippines. I was wondering if its worth anything or even worth selling, I mean its cool my dad had it for like 25 30 years, and now its mine, but he also gave me a 10/22 which I rather shoot lol.

Any input on selling or even more about the gun? Could I j/b weld the ear back on the safety? Or maybe q bond

I have one in my 22 rifle battery and it's a blast to shoot for plinking and general field usage. If I were you I'd take it to a smith and ask him to repair it. Parts are still available for it as it's still in production. I'd get the recoil springs replaced as well as the firing pin. As far as I can remember these rifles are pretty well made and are decently accurate with the right ammo used. They've been in production for about twenty years.

Check your bore and if it's still shiney and clean I'd still get a gunsmith to get it repaired for continued shooting fun. Again, parts are still available as it's still in production. I admit the instructions are crap and very un-detailed about allot of things but there are books you can get about it's assemble and care taking. I don't know how many rounds you put through that rifle but most barrels will last longer than you will in general.

I bought mine about 4 years ago and loved every minute shooting it! Instead of selling it why don't you have a gunsmith work on it for you? Parts are still available and I believe a store in Las Vegas has parts for them.

If your dad had it for that long it has to have the old time flash hider. Mine came without one and so I just shoot it without it and not worrying about it.
Mine came with terrible/useless instructions and so when cleaning I just remove the rifle from the stock and use gun scrubber and wash all the parts down.

Check your bore...if it's shiney then most likely it hasn't even gone past 1/2 it's barrel life. If you decide to get it fixed I'd get all the springs changed, new firing pin and have the barrel recrowned and put back the flash surporssor.
