    .22LR 10 round revolvers

Any good reviews for a certain model? I am looking for a reliable piece, but it doesn't have to be expensive. It will mostly just be used for informal target practice. I checked out the Ruger Single 10 round model, but honestly I prefer double action. What else is out there?

The only new DA revolvers on the DOJ roster are S&W 317 & 63 (8 shot), S&W 617 (10 shot), S&W 17 (6 shot) and Ruger SP101 (8 shot). The Ruger would be the least expensive at around $540 + tax/dros. Anything else like a Taurus 94 (9 shot) is off the roster and you'd have to find a private party selling one.

This is a well made, precision pistol. The trigger is crisp and smooth. Mine goes to the range every trip.
I spent a long time looking for a used one and lost a couple in bidding. I finally found a nice used one a couple years ago. It has been well worth the effort.

S&W 617 is the one to get! Shot it once a few months ago. Been in love ever since. Probably gonna get one for myself for Christmas.

Bass pro wants $800 before fees and tax. Buds gun shop wants $670 for the 4". Just order through buds and pick one of their "preferred FFLs" when you ship it. I'm paying 780 out the door including dealer fees and tax, and insured shipping.

BTW I ordered mine through dynamic gun sales in Yucaipa. They are new, and they are SUPER friendly people. They are accepting orders from buds, but they aren't "open for business" in the sense that they don't have their own inventory yet. Dealer fees + DROS is $52, so he's pretty reasonable on out of state transfer fees.

I purchased a S&W 617 a couple of years ago, It is a nice piece with a smooth trigger, very reliable. I like the weight it feels like you are shooting a 357.

Why a 10-shot? There are plenty of used 6-shot revolvers out there. Smith and Wesson Model 17 and 18 are great revolvers. Taurus and Rossi can be good bargains. For the price of the new Model 17 you might be able to find a used Colt Diamondback in .22 rimfire. They would have to be face-to-face transactions, but you'd probably want that anyway if you're looking at used guns.
