    Day out with 10/22

Here are some pics I snapped at an indoor range. First time out with the tech sights with a few decent groups.

The left two columns are with Remington Golden Bullets.
Right two columns are Federal bulk .22s.
The three "flyers" on either side weren't flyers but me aiming for the white inbetween the four circles...

So not the best shooting ever but just trying out the sights. I'm wondering if it's just me and my poor eyesight but I had some trouble seeing the front sight.

Looks good!!! If having trouble with the front sight try a bigger one perhaps? Not sure if they make one or if it would help much.
      Nice target btw!

What about painting the front sight a different color? I have no idea how that idea would work out...

Do you shot off hand or with support ? For 50ft, I guess ammo might not be that critical .

I like your target . Is it 2'' circle ?

Looks like a good time was had by all.

I put a Tasco 3-9x49 scope on mine mainly because my eyes aren't what they used to be. I use the Walmart Federal bulk pack in mine and have no complaints with accuracy.

If I was using it for competition, then I might consider better ammo. Mine isn't a race car, so it eats budget gas.

This was at OC indoor range in Brea. Target was there. Some of the groups were off hand, some I leaned against the bench for stability.

That's not bad at all. Although your gun will no doubt like certain ammo better, shoot everything you get your hands on, it'll give you a better feel for for gun, shot placement, shot to shot corrections on the fly. I think you get the picture. Nice gun too.

Couple of things that you might try if not already. I assume you are using a front post sight. If so then zero your sights using the "6 o'clock" hold method. That is, set the target on top of the front post and adjust elevation until the point of impact is in the center of the target. Trying to hold a front post sight in the center of a target can be tough on the eyes. The 6 o'clock hold method is better for most folks.

Make sure you are focusing on the front post and not the rear aperture of the tech sights. The rear aperture should appear as a fuzzy hole. Gotta practice to get good with aperture sights but once you learn how they are great, acccurate sights.

Good shootin. Like stated above, try some quality ammo and see if that helps you out.
