Can't understand why you want to interfere with the looks and lines of a classic, but your gun, your choice. That said, go Buttler Creek!

It's not like I cant just put the receiver back in my wood stock. I just think it would be cool to have something that looks outrageous, I'm sure you've seen how creative people can get with 10/22 builds.

Again I know that there's not much you can do to actually improve such a good 22lr auto loader as the 10/22 but I wouldn't mind having something that felt completely different just for the hell of it.

I bought the Archangel Marauder kit. Looks cool but magazine is expensive, but then again its the same price as the 10 rounders mags out there. Its time for Kalifornia to repeal the high cap ban...

I bought some 10/25 mags made by ProMag at a local Big 5 for $20 if I remember correctly. They have steel lips and work fine.

A rim-fire rifle is not an Assault Weapon, so is the 25-round mag legal with an AR-15 22lr rifle?

only if you had it prior to 2000. 10 rounds is 10 rounds regardless of caliber for the mag.

Just finished my Marauder kit. It was pain in the as for some reason the fwd sidewall was so tight I had to shave off some material. Anyway heres the pic from the final build. 26.5 inches folded. Legal(barely_).

I've had good luck with both Butler Creek steel lips 10 rounder and Eagle 10 rounders even though they are all plastic, also the 25 and 30 round version of each, respectively.

If you are really interested in a Krinker Plinker, I have a lightly used one that I want to sell. It shoots great, we've put about 300 rounds thru it. I bought it after reading about them in Small Arms Review. The version I have is the early one, so it does not have the rails on the lower handguard, it looks more realistic that way. Reason I want to sell it is because I have a pink Tapco stock to convert the rifle for my wife. I'll make you a good deal... Hell, I'll even throw in some 10 rounders.
