I recently purchased a 28" Green Mountain BB from a calgunner and got a Zimmerman XL receiver with an aftermarket trigger group and Magpul PRS. Bipod of course. Now i am looking for a nice scope for 300 yds. shooting. My budget is $250-300. Any recommendation?

Look into the Mueller target scope. At 8-32X with a 30mm tube, it stays bright even at max magnification. I love mine. Just be sure to give yourself plenty of eye relief.sigpic

I assume this is a rimfire rifle and if so you will need some help to get out to 300 yds with any scope. Typical bullet drop for 22lr at that range with a 50yd zero is 128 inches, nearly 11 feet @ 300yds.
I don't know of any scope that has enough elevation adjustment to zero out to that range. Maybe a 25MOA base and Burris Signature Zee Ring inserts at 20 MOA could help get you there. I think the largest MOA adjustment in elevation that I've seen is 80 and that was on a 3-9X scope.
Of course there could be a scope out there that will work and I just haven't seen it. Of course if its .17HMR then its a different formula.Comment

300 yards?
We shoot a 6" falling steel plate match with the last/farthest range being 175 yards. Bullet drop is severely impacted at that range, let alone 300 yards. I had to typically hold about 2' feet up to hit at that range with superior quality ammo at that...with spotting rounds and a spotter to correct!TURNING and turning in the widening gyre
