well, here we are 2+ months later and I finally got my barrel back from GM. I'm not happy with the long turn around time, but I guess they got busy during the holidays.
They said the barrel was out of spec for the type of ammo I was using, and had a wider mouth to ensure cheaper bulk ammo would feed.
In other news, the reworked bolt / stock barrel worked flawlessly. My groups with this setup were very nice, so I'm expecting a real tack driver with the reworked GM barrel.
I'll be testing it out soon and will report back.
