Where can we get TOZ 78?

I want to buy a TOZ 78.

In various forums I have seen many many comments praising their accuracy and low cost. There seems to be a demand for them, but no supply. I've been checking many sites like gunbroker.com, Buds, and others, but no luck.

Can anyone give me advice on the best way to get one?

I know they are still making them in Russia; can I somehow order directly? I've sent an email to their marketing department in Russia, but I don't think they will respond. I doubt they make foreign, individual sales.

Tula's website indicates that they had one distributor here in America, but that distributor's website and phone # are no longer working...

I am also having a difficult time finding any Winchester Wildcat .22 rifles (basically a TOZ 78 with an American brand on it). Seems they were last listed in Winchester's catalog in 2009.

Any specific advice about what to expect and places to look would be really helpful and appreciated.

Yeah, and of those "couple" you found, 3 of them will not sell to California. Hmmm. And "smuggle" doesn't imply anything, he was making a joke that in order to get a Russian made TOZ 78 he should smuggle them into the country.

Anyway, since you were mainly asking about TOZ 78 rifles I'll suggest you make the rounds of all the local gun stores in your area and just keep asking around.
