    Just bought a GSG 1911

I went to Oxnard Shooters Paradise, but the place was too crowded. I went instead to Island View Enterprise in Ventura. They were almost closing but the guy there was happy to show me their stuff of Ars and 1911.

So, I check out the GSG 1911 and my wife said, it will be in your name but I will be using it. Filed out the DROS and the deal was done. Now the waiting days starts.

Thank you to the guy of Island View Enterprise (I forgot his name) for answering a lot of my questions. I will definitely buy my next gun from this place.

Island gave it to me for $359 + tax + dros. Considering thats its on sale at turners for $349 this week, I think I got a really good deal.

I didn't see these on the ''Roster'', are they only in select shops?

I have read somewhere that there are two versions: One is the threaded barrel and the other one is not. The non-threaded is Ca legal. This is also advertised in Turners for this week flyer.

I bought one about a month and a half ago and just love shooting it. I,m just under 1500 rounds it's just a fun little shooter. I have done a few things to it like sanded and polished the frame and slide rails for a smoother slide action, I put in a flat MSH and put on different grips. I polished the trigger bow to smooth it and call me crazy I polished the barrel. Next I want to put on a stainless barrel bushing. Why all the work on a 22 because it inexpensive and fun. Here's a couple of pics.

Actually I put a Wilson Combat on my Springfield and used the one that came off it.

                            Not to but...

                            Red,
How did you polish the barrel? do you have full pics of it? The the muzzle on my barrel is beginning to wear and your polish job looks clean.
                            Thanks.

Ubermcoupe, I first removed the paint from the barrel by using a wire wheel attached to my bench grinder. Next I used a hard buffing wheel with the green compound to remove scratches and polish it up. Then I used Mothers mag polish to bring out the shine. In between the hard wheel and the mag polish I would use a softer wheel and white compound for a brighter shine but I ran out of the white so when I get some more the barrel will get redone. Here's a bad pic of what it looks like now.
