    My New Savage 93R17

    Finally got my Savage:
Added an Elite 3200 4-12X40AO, DIP Mount and Bottom Metal and Burris Signature Zee rings.
AccuTrigger was factory set at its lowest @ #2.25 and pretty crisp
Broke it in and sighted it in Yesturday, well not much break-in.
I gave it a serious cleaning before heading to the range, have not cleaned it since.
I have only put 60 rounds though it so far.
Took Blood today, a Ground Squirrel, used the 20XTP, took out the heart, Bang/Flop
So far the 20XTP's shoot best, then Horn. V-Max, CCI Gamepoint, CCI V-Max.
All shoot great, just a hair over .5" @ 50yds. Notice the POI shift from the V-Max to the XTP

Nice Savage .22, squirrel = ouch!

That rifle has a 5 round mag, right? I wonder if there are 10 shot capacity mags available...

I've got a Savage model 40 in .22 from ~ '70s, and it shoots true as heck....a real fun one all day long, and I want to find additional mags for it.

Savage website only lists 5 shot magazines for 17HMR and 22WMR. Only other rimfie mags listed are for the MKII, 5 or 10 shot magazines.

Love my 93. If you haven't already done it, get a DIP bottom metal as it really helps to be able to torque the bolts to proper spec without bending on the metal. If you're willing to tinker, take the action out of the stock, take the trigger out, and take about 1.5 coils off of the main trigger spring. You can get really into it by honing the sear, but mine was breaking really clean. I can get exactly 1lb, 2oz trigger pull consistently now by taking off a hair over 2 coils, and everything still works perfectly. RCBS Fine trigger gauge is what I was using to gauge it, and its great. Here is the bottom metal:

            and the site.

And here's my new fun gun!

It was funny that you were talking about POI change because when I changed from CCI to Hornady, it was about an 1.5" difference or maybe a hair more. They still grouped well, but it was amazing to watch the change.
