I'm a pre-64 buff. This is my opinion on .22s. You cant beat a Winchester model 52 or a Remington 513-t for plinking targets. Bolt action so one shot one kill when hunting. I am patiently waiting to get involved in the monthly matches but stuff keeps coming up and stealing my time. I have a 1948 Winchester model 52B mint condition and it's my best gun in my collection for target shooting. Anyone out there have a model 52 and if so your thoughts on it?

52
Back quite a few years ago, I began my shooting career with a 513-T moved up to a 52 and progressed to a 40x. This was in high school ROTC, back in the 60's in another state. Fast forward to the early 80's and I bought another 52 and shot a few matches with it. While at the old Pomona gun show I was able to pick up an Anschutz model 54 super match so the 52 went to a good home. All the 52's shot very well and are very fine rifles, but I heard that better more expensive song and moved on. I believe the Civilian Marksmenship Program has some 52's and 40X's on sale at the present time.Comment
