Ruger 22/45 MKIII Help: Accurizing Kit and magazine

I'm finally getting a Ruger 22/45 Hunter Stainless 4.5"Model KP45HMKIII, its in jail at the moment.



I got a few question:

1. I want to get rid of the magazine disconnect and at the same time planning to pick up Volquartsen Accurizing Kit. I have been reading online that I can purchase the Volquartsen Accurizing Kit MKII instead of the MKIII and it would fit and also get rid of the magazine disconnect at the sametime. Also I would save a $10. Has anyone tried that ? Does it work like that?

2. The magazine. Its been confusing what works and what doesn't on the calguns forum I found that the MKIII mag will work in the MKII but not the other way around. Then I checked Midwayusa reviews from a user on Ruger Magazine Ruger 22/45 Mark II 22.
Buyer:"These are a perfect fit for the MKIII 22/45. They function flawlessly and are Ruger OEM. You can't go wrong with OEM. Ruger claims that they won't fit but they work just fine in my Ruger model P4MKIII."

Don't waste your money on the accurizing kit. The only parts that make any improvement are the trigger and sear.

MKIII magazines are not the same as 22/45 magazines.

If you want to get rid of the mag disconnect, there is a bushing that needs to be replaced with a washer, there are people on rimfirecentral that sell them and threads explaining what to do in detail.

Can a MKII 22/45 work in a 22/45 MKIII ? The review say it does but I need to know if it really works.

From what I read, MKII 22/45 mags will work on MKIII 22/45 because some guns have loose tolerance... Which tells me some will work and some will not... Or you will have to file little tab on the trigger that goes in the MKIII magazine slot... I'm still looking for definitive answer, also.

I have a new tight MKIII that shoots w/o problems with MKII mags.

I've done it. In addition to the MKII Kit, you also need a MKII Hammer Bushing. You can then use the MKII hammer from the kit.

However, as others have said, there's a number of different ways of doing it, and they all work (although a few methods require a little effort fitting in lieu of cost).

Not sure about the magazines, though. There's supposed to be a difference, but it must be somewhat subtle.
