Problems cocking my 1911 with Kimber 22 conversion

I just purchased a Kimber 22 conversion kit for my Rock Island 1911. Unfortunately, I'm having a problem, I can't rack the slide back all the way? When I rack the slide, it seems to be catching the slide stop? The slide stop is completely pushed in, but if I push inward, the slide stop moves just enough to allow the slide to travel rearward. Anyone have any suggestions on what I need to do to "fit" this thing and get it to work?
