    Glenfield Model 25

    My buddy came across a glenfield model 25 manufactured by marlin. How do I tell what year it was manufactured? The serial number starts with 70 so would that mean 1970? Also what is it worth? Looks like it had never been shot. The scope it came with is still sealed in a the box it came in.

    The are the predecessor of the Marlin 925 which is a pretty accurate rifle. Go over to rimfirecentral.com and look in the Marlin Bolt Action Rifle Forum for tons of info on that rifle.

      70 = 1970
      The thing with firearms is that they are not like any other consumer product, simple ownership of one carries a lot of responsibility.

      Some idiots are too busy knowing it all to ever learn anything

        My first rifle at age 16 in 1970. Hey, maybe that's my old rifle!
