    Umarex MP5 .22LR

Just DROS'd one of those last week from Turners. They have a mock / fake suppressor for the barrel length requirement.

Have any of you guys heard anything good about these rifles?

I picked one up from Addax Tactical last Monday.
I took it up to my in-law's ranch this weekend and sighted in the 4x scope I mounted on it.
This thing is very cool and pretty darn accurate!

    It's heavy though for a .22

stupid question arent fake suppressor and flash hiders a no no out here in california
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774_1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764

VERY popular here at my place... sold two of this same make/model to a
couple guys (friends) about 6 months ago.

THEN... same guy calls me last week and orders three (3) more for another of
his 3 friends (respective DROS)... and I like the quality, tho I have never fired
        one.

On a rimfire both are good regardless.
On a centerfire semiauto the fake suppressor is fine the flash hider is either okay or illegal depending on the configuration of your rifle.

You don't happen to have a source for the 10 round mags do you?
Those things are hard to find right now.

Have you handled and shot a GSG-5? How did it compare to with the weight & feel, along with the ergonomics of it? How was shooting the Umarex MP5 compared to the GSG-5?

I've considered picking up the SD model, but was debating between that or a used GSG-5D.

Do the GSG-5 mags not work in the Umarex MP5? I haven't heard if they do or not, so I was just wondering.

I haven't held or fired a GSG-5 so i can't say much about the comparison.
I can say that tha Umarex feels solid as can be and the weight really make recoil for a .22 almost nonexistant. (Like it's ever a major problem..)

From what I've read they do not fit which kind of sucks since they are more available.

Just DROS'd my MP5-A5 today, can't wait to pick it up on the 12th! Got it through LG Firearms in Sac via Gun Genie.
These blast points - too accurate for sandpeople. Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise.
