    Bullet Button

i'm building a 22lr. plan is to use a ccmg upper on the stripped spike's lower once i put all the goodies in it (still researching triggers for what i want to use). this lower will also be used for a 20+inch 5.56 upper i will eventually buy and put optics on for long range work.

question is will there be any problem ONLY WHEN THE 22LR upper is on it to use one of the mag magnet style devices so i don't have to screw around changing out my mag catch every time i swap my upper?

i know you don't need a bullet button on a rimfire but not sure how it'd look to a LEO if i had one and had a mag magnet stacked on it

i'll absolutely take it off prior to putting the 5.56 upper on

I may get jumped on for saying this but here goes
There are so many opinions about that convenient 'mag magnet' that I can't get a straight answer about its legality or legitimacy. It seems to me that the magnet acts as a tool and nothing else AS LONG AS YOU REMOVE IT AFTER DROPPING A MAGAZINE. Am I incorrect to assume that?
In my opinion, if you remove the magnet prior to swapping uppers, your golden!
It would take a bored ATF agent looking to start **** with someone to sweat you about not removing that 'tool'.
It sucks that you have to think so hard about going shooting and not getting charged with a B.S. felony!

No you do not need a bullet button when shooting rimfire... I would suggest considering a raddlock if your concern is being able to quickly swap between the two... In that case, you just adjust the screw a couple turns.

I generally recommend people use a lower that they just dedicate to the rimfire upper (assuming the funds/ability is there)...

problem solved with using the raddlock gen-x bullet button. all it takes is a few turns with a flat head(even included) to convert it from a bullet button to regular magazine release.

you just need to remember to turn it back to a BB before installing the 5.56 upper

          On a centerfire, that's wrong...

You could however use it with a rimfire upper...
