    archangel ARS vs. Tapco T6

So I've been wanting to go tactical with my 10/22, I'm trying to decide between the Archangel ARS (it kinda looks like it's a little bulky) and the Tapco T6 (not sure how it would come together with what I have in mind). I also like the Butler Creek folding stock, but I think the price and the lack of picatinny rail would bother me. If price was no issue I would like Jyruiz's rail set up on the Butler Creek folding stock, but the rail setup looks pricey. All opinions and ideas welcome, especially any one who has used any of these setups.

I have the Archangel ARS package and like it. It seems really sturdy and I am surprised at how useful the picatinny rails are. I have added an AR-15 carry handle/rear sight with a low profile front sight on the upper front rail. On top of the carry handle, I've mounted a Barska scope which gives this rifle a lot of flexibility. I have a foregrip installed on the lower front rail and am thinking of adding a bipod.

The Archangel installed in 15 minutes with no modifications (i.e. baking or grinding) and there is no play at all in the gun except for the shoulder stock which is not a problem for me. IMO, the Archangel is one of the coolest looking stocks, but is more expensive and not necessarily better depending on your needs. I do dislike the cheap looking flash surpressor and goofy plastic bayonet.

Not sure how your budgets look, but if you want to go tactical on 10/22 may I suggest the Archangel "Maurader". only problem is there sold out and really have to search for it!

      Check it out.

      Cheers!

The Maurader is cool, but I want more function then form. I plan on using this as the varmint gun and the range toy. I've had some hi-cap clips (legal ones ) and if SHTF I don't have any other semi-auto rifles to fall back on.
Please lets not turn into a SHTF discussion, just making a functional tactical style 10/22 thread. Thanks.

The rail is a UTG 10/22 Commando Tactical Rail and it is only $40.00, go for it, I think it would look cool.

For affordable, comfy, good looking, not tacticool setup just get the Tapco T6 stock. It is the best mod that I got for me 1022.

Have you looked at the new Troy offerings?

the Troy stocks are nice, pricey though. I like the price on that rail, but the bottom rail is so short, its either bipod or vertical grip, i don't think i would be using both at the same time, but the option would be nice. the archangel is kind where i'm leaning, but the wow factor of the butler creek folding stock with that quad rail is hard to deny. thanks, more opinions welcome.

Tapco stocks cant be beat for the price, especially the first generation Intrafuse stocks.

People have also been modifying that UTG forestock to go onto a Tapco T6 with good success. Rimfirecentral has lots of threads on it.
