Marlin 60 Remove Rear Sight

Does anyone know how to go about removing the rear sight on a Marlin 60? It appears to be crimped on and I can't find any information online pertaining to its removal...

Any help would be much appreciated as I'm trying to get my mangled rear sight off prior to shipping the gun back to Marlin for repairs (barrel is cocked right). I got really frustrated with how the gun was shooting and bent the little crappy rear sight right off, very dumb, I know.

Either way I have tech sights I'm waiting to install, I just need a barrel that is lined up with the dovetails to install them on!

from what I can tell, the rear site is crimped over a small piece of metal that fits in the dovetail slot on the barrel.

I presently have one of these apart and am rebuilding it. I decided to leave that part of it together on the rebuild process.

Easy. Get a small screw driver and hammer/mallet, you can drive the sight out by tapping the screw driver left or right. Thats actually how the rear sight is adjusted for windage, but in your case you're tapping it all the way out.
