10 22 stores?

just like the title asks are there any disadvantages to a compact 10 22?

I am going to buy my first 10 22 next week. I went down to turners to check them out and really liked the sights and size and look of the compact. (not a fan of the barrel strap) I'm not the biggest guy around so I'm sure i can get a decent cheek weld. So is there any thing else to consider, does the compact affect after market parts available i.e. stocks barrel?

I dont really see myself doing a lot of modifications other than I would like a black stock and a decent trigger so, given that, any thoughts?

so I pick up my 10 22 tuesday does any one know of a good store to get parts and what not near LA?

The Compact is a nice handy rifle.
If the stock is too short, lots of people have standard model stocks laying around for cheap.

Compact with Tech Sights and Ramline youth stock.

I got both the compact and standard 10 22, I replace the wood stock of my compact one with a Hogue stock and it fits great. I don't think you will have any problem regarding after market parts. The only difference i notice between the two are the barrel length, stock length of pull, sights and no barrel band on compact. Accuracy is almost the same. Fun plinker guns.
