red dot for a Mark iii

So i am looking at adding a red dot on my mark iii. I am looking for a good quality sight that will hold its zero, that doesnt cost a lot. I am not expecting eotech quality just something that is reliable enough for me use on the pistol. any suggestions

+1 I think I have recommended the trs-25 a few times on here. Its solid. Mounted on my AR until i put some glass on it. I love it.

If your budget is sub $200, you are going to deal with the various made in China scopes with a lot of variability in dot quality and build issues. Other members can chiime in on their recommendations because I've had too many bad ones.

If you don't mind the extra work in mounting a tube sight, the Ultradots are best IMO. Clear optics and well defined dots w/o "staring" or blurring. A C-more is good stand by but kinda big. Paired with a Alchin mount and it's fun set-up.

Of the open micro sights, I personally have had a "New" Fastfire II fail after about 500 rounds of use. The wires in that sight are not supported well and even the minimal recoil of a .22, the wire junction broke. Yes, Burris warranted it, but it was a major hassle getting the sight replaced.

I like the Leupold Deltapoint w/ 7.5 minute triange. It as the clearest glass of all of the micro-sights and best build quality. There is not a dedicated mount for a MK II/III but it uses the same mount as a JPoint.

              I have the Bushnell TRS-25 $69, Primary Arms Microdot $100, and Tasco BKRD30 $40.

              List from my favorite:
              1) Primary Arms - brightest dot of the three, better dials - small & light
              2) Tasco BKRD - high build quality for the price, holds zero for the price
              3) Bushnell - no nonsense, red dot, works, small and light, rather have PA MicroDot if choosing an additional one

and the cheapy Tasco is pretty darn good. They come in two versions, rimfire mount and weaver mount. I just saw the Tasco weaver mount version at Wally world for $32!
