Youth stock for 10/22

Need a shorter stock for my son. Wanted to get a shorter/synthetic youth stock. But now I am leaning towards those "M4 style" collapsible stocks with a pistol grip.

What are my fellow Calgunners getting for their kids?

I have the Tapco collapsible stock you mention on my 10/22. It's pretty good for my kids. It's just too heavy for my 5 yr old, but fine for my 12 yr old.

If you decide to stay with the traditional stock, takeoffs are posted regularly around $20. A little work with a saw and a sander and bingo, shorter stock.

I have a youth stock (wood) that I took off my sons 10/22 when he grew out of it. PM if interested.

I put on an Axiom free float stock with the M4 style buttstock (9.5"-13.5" LOP) and the flat bottomed forestock. It was cheap, but it has done the job well. I attached one of my bipods to the built-in sling swivel and my youngest daughters could use it to pop groups on 2" square targets when they were only about 40 pounds. I take off the bipod and extend the stock and presto, I'm up and running with the same gun.
