An open shooting range that i go to very often has the same. Almost every time we'll be shooting and out of nowhere deer will run straight through the range between 25 and 100 yards in front of us. And this is basically with constant firing going on. And every time i think dummy dummy dummy how are you still alive!

I have seen Deer on public ranges many times during live fire , I guess they get so used to hearing the gun fire that longer is a threat ?

Same here. I've had Deer, ground hogs and turkeys walk right out on the range. The ground hog was within 2 feet of the back stop. Never even flinched.
Come Deer and Turkey season, you won't see them though.

A couple of years ago, looking through my Lyman receiver peep sight, I was about to squeeze off the trigger of a Marlin 45-70 at 100 yards when I noticed some tiny Bambi legs directly behind my target stand. Apparently, both Mama and the little one were there and had walked onto the range when I was tinkering with my rifle!
Once, I saw some deer hunters all camoed up getting sighted in for the season at our range that allows no hunting. A big buck walked in front of their target and started grazing. He occasionally looked at the target, then at the prone shooters and then went back to grazing. It was pretty funny, everyone was laughing and the shooters were going nuts.
