    Barska 2-7x32 for a rimfire?

I see Natchezz (and a few other places) has these on sale, and have been looking for a new scope for my 22 (the 4x on it has been there for 35 years...) and looking at something around the 2-7 variable range.

I have a couple of pairs of cheap Barska binocs, and they suck (I gave them to the kids for toys.)

Are any of the Barska products worth bothering with, or should I just go with a Tasco or Simmons 22 scope?

I made the mistake of buying about 4 of those little Barska SKS 4X scopes with the AO & bullet drop dial, thought they'd be neat for 22 plinking, especially the AR rimfire. I've trashed all of them, the darn things get loose and turning the AO changes point of impact. Barska is a brand I won't buy, ever for any reason. Cheap is OK from time to time, but the thing should at least be serviceable.

I realize that it's only a .22, but Barska and Tasco suck big time. Some people have Simmons scopes that they are happy with, but I don't have any experience with them. If it were me, I'd get a Nikon Prostaff or Redfield Revolution 2 - 7X; both run around $100 when you can find them on sale. They'll hold zero and last a long time.

Will check them out - thanks! Are they okay with parallax under 100yards? I know many regular scopes aren't really set up to deal with 25yrd parallax issues.

Was debating a shotgun scope down in that range, as the ones I have seen are set to 75 yard or so parallax. Of course, less of an issue when using at 2x.

            Thanks, checked it out.

Obviously people have much different intent for the 22s than I do !

I am just looking at shooting cans, rabbits, squirrels, etc out to maybe 100 yards.

            4-16 WAY overkill,
and sorry - old fashioned - target turrets are just that - for target shooting, not dragging around through brush and woods!

I have had no problems with my Barska 4x scope on my 10/22 for the last 3 years! It was far better than my Tasco that it came with. It in no way is a bad *** scope, but I don't need one on my .22 that I shoot on 50-100yard range. It works just fine for my use!

              Hope that helps you some.

                Here you go.

For the money, it's the best scope you can get for a .22. Good clear optics, holds zero very well.

thanks, but that has target turrets and way to much magnification - if I wanted to start at 4x I would just get a fixed 4x again. Might just go that route anyway!

I acquired a Marlin 925r from a Calgunner recently which he mounted with a Barska Huntmaster 3-9x40. I wasn't expecting much from it, although I found the glass pretty clear. Yesterday I did a quick sight-in in the backyard at 25 yards, then went down the orchard to hunt some jacks. Made a headshot at 50 yards with that Barska scope (using x4 and Rem Cyclone ammo). So I'm actually pretty impressed considering how cheap this scope is. Was thinking about getting a rimfire Leupold on that rifle, but I'll hold off for now - I might reconsider when I start shooting at 100 yards.

i have Leupold RF special scopes mounted on my serious "go to" .22 rimfires.

they do NOT have 'click' adjustments but can be adjusted so minutely it's incredible...

they are parallax adjusted for 60 yards from the factory...

they come with a lifetime guarantee...

                      only 'negative' is the cost...

I have a Barska 2-7x32 mildot airgun scope on my CZ452 and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I've shot many 3/8" groups at 50 yards with it.
The mildot makes shooting out to 100 yards easy and out to 200 yards possible.
