Hello All,
I plan on purchasing a dedicated .22 lr upper for my standard multi-cal AR style lower (CMMG). I used the search function and I made this decision based mostly on reliabilty and price.
With that said, I've narrowed my choices down to the following 2 dedicated .22 uppers:
CMMG
TacSol
I know the TacSol is the high-end and the CMMG typically runs good especially for the price. Right now, I'm leaning towards the CMMG given the performance for price formula.
So, here are my questions:
1. Are there any additional choices that I missed that I should look at?
2. Are there any arguements for against the CMMG choice over the TacSol?
From a technical perspective, I know there are perferred triggers, trigger spring rates, and other things to consider. With that said, my lower has a standard 5.56 trigger spring and a notched trigger. Will this affect performance and reliability, and, are there any other "gotcha's" that I need to be concerned with?
Bottom line: I don't necessarily want to go making lots of mods to make it run right as having the abilty to switch between the two is the selling point for me (vs that of just buying a SW MP15-22). I also thought it might be helpful to have all these questions in a single thread should someone else be looking for a .22 alternative.
Sorry if missed anything on the search and I really appreciate any feedback and information.
Thanks!
