    .22lr handgun suggestion needed

Looking to get a .22 caliber handgun, currently have a marlin 795 .22 rifle and I'm super satisfied with the purchase.
Basically I'm looking for the handgun equivelent of my marlin 795, reasonable pricing, reliable performance and accurate.
I'm open to both pistol or revolver. Was looking at Ruger mark III, too expensive.

I am in this same boat, looking for a 22lr handgun. I have a 10/22 but just don't ever shoot it anymore and have more fun at the indoor range with handguns.

I have been looking at the Sig Mosquito (which is manufactured by GSG for Sig) which is under $300 if you can find a good dealer. I am also very interested in the Mark 3s but they are pricey.

    Any help would be great.

Also if anyone is looking for a 10/22 carbine with lots of accessories check out my for sale thread in my signature.

    Thanks

You should keep your ruger I think. Every man should have a ruger 10/22, marlin 795 or marlin 60. They're simply fantastic .22 rifles.
I use my marlin 795 for outdoor long range plinking funs.

can't really go wrong with a used ruger standard/mk1/mk2. i love my ruger standard. it's older than me, and still runs like a champ.

Is the S&W M&P22 out yet? Smith says MSRP of $419 so that would probably put it around $320-$350.

                S&W M&P22 10+1

Apparently its going to be made by Walther for S&W...which make sense.

Save-up your money and get it right the first time...

Save-up for a Ruger MK III - and get the steel frame, not the 22/45

Aint nothin' wrong with a 22/45 y'see... they is just NOT the steel frame.

If'n you can find a used MK II - well now, there you are.

Good luck and check-out them YouTube VIDs on field strip and clean before
you take one'o them rugers apart... takes some gettin' used-to

Like the man said, look for a used one. I bought a Mk1 with only 50 rounds for $200. Make sure that the gun is clean before you buy it. Most people hate reassembling their Rugers, so they rarely detail clean them.

save for the ruger. I have a browning and a smith and while the smith feels better in my hand, nothing shoots as long or as well as the ruger. Your great great great grandchildren will curse your name for handing down a gun they just can't seem to wear out.

I was looking at the Sig but I've heard they are very particular about the ammo you feed them. I've heard nothing but praise for the Rugers.

I don't have much experience with many types of .22 handguns, but I did have a Ruger Mark II which ran and ran and ran. Other than duds, I can't recall that gun ever malfunctioning. One of the few guns I regret selling.
