Henry lever action wont eject + scope question

I took my Henry lever action 22 to the range the other day. After about 20+ rounds it didnt want to eject the spent case anymore. It would eject a live round no problem but not a spent case. It was a pain having to use my car key to pop the case out after each round, I finally gave up.

Also, I have a 3-7X20 Tasco that myself and a friend couldnt hit a thing with. The closest range we could use was 25 yards. The 50 yard range was tough to see with the scope, let alone hit anything.

Can I buy a bigger scope that I can mount on here and also mount on an old 1903 Remingtion 30-6? Would that be wasting time?

What inexpensive scope would be good for the my Henry?

I could imagine your frustration with your rifle

I know next to nothing about lever actions but heres my advise
I would first register at Rimfirecentral then ask the question in the Henry subform
    then if needed contact Henry

Ok so it sounds like you are wanting more magnification with your scope?
    ^^ is that correct?

I would try taking the scope, the rings, and the mounts off and put a steady amount of torque on each
You could have had something loose causing issues

The problem that you may discover is different style of mounting bases
most likely they are not going to be the same between the two rifles

We need more info before we can suggest you a scope

    How much magnification?
What is "inexpensive"??? $15 or $400???
    Give us a budget

I had a similar ejectionproblem with my .17 AcuBolt single shot, but that went away after breaking in. I made a wooden ramrod to knock out the spent cases. On my Henry H001, I have a Simmons 4X .22 Mag scope. It is plenty bright. I got it from Planet Optics for less than $50 with free shipping.

I have two Henrys, one in 22LR and one in 22Mag. I haven't had problems with either one, and I've shot hundreds of rounds through them. Other than cleaning issues, I have no idea why yours won't extract.

As far as the scope goes, that sounds like it's one of those $15 Walmart scopes, and I'm not surprised at the performance. Step up in price range and quality, and get a scope with a bigger lens tube. You'll be glad you did.

first off if it ejects unfired rounds but not fired ones Id suspect a dirty chamber. it could be a piece of plastic got burned onto the chamber wall. try a good cleaning to see if it works. 3x7x20 is pretty small for my eyes to see much through. depending on what you are going to do with your rifle, there are several good inexpencive scopes. for a hunting scope one of my favorites has always been the Weaver K 6. its a no frills scope with really good glass. for a plinker or a target scope maybe a 3x9 variable. just rember that with inexpencive scopes less is more. less frills = better scope. each extra thing costs the maker more to build. good luck DR
