    10/22 build is finally done

Please see attached photos. The target is a five shot group at 50 yards, fired immediately after getting the scope dialed in. I'll take the target out a bit further next time.

Edited to add: The target photo is rotated 90 degrees. I don't know why - it's right when I open it on my machine. Taken with an iPhone.

It took more than a year to actually piece this together, around other projects that seemed (or actually were) more important, plus the birth of a child...

    Mods:

Green Mountain 16" fluted bull barrel
Mueller APT 4.5x14x40mm scope w/ sunshade
    Tactical Solutions 15MOA rail
    Hogue stock
    Caldwell XLA bipod
Extended magazine release + bolt buffer (can't remember who makes either)

    Just wanted to share.

What ammo? With some match ammo that group ought to be under nickle sized. Cheap ammo in .22lr is amazingly inaccurate. In both my 10/22T and savage Mark 2 Wolf MT ammo will group 3 times smaller than bulk pack .22. Thats a big difference.

How'd it shoot before the mods?

Ammo was bulk pack CCI Blazer. I will have to try something better to see what the rifle is really capable of.

Great looking build! I have found that I like shooting my 10/22's more than my ARs.

Indeed. In my experience the Remington Thunderbolt .22 ammo should have been named "Lightningbolt" since you never know when it is going to go off and never hits the same place twice.

With some quality hotrod CCI ammo, you will probably be shooting one ragged hole.

              Cool rifle!

Nice looking build! Post the target after you try some. Wolf ammo. I am sure you will be very happy with the results.

I was about to say the same thing. That group could use some work. Is your barrel floated? Try some wolf mt ammo. Also, what have you done to the internals? What kind of rifle rest were you using?

Blazer is great for cheap fun at three cents a round but try some Wolf Match Target for making nice little groups
