    heavy grain .17 hmr?

does anyone know if they make a .17hmr heavier than 20 grains? Every twist rate table iv'e seen indicates that 15.5, 17, and 20 grain bullets are all too light for a 1:9 twist barrel (most savage hmr's).

I haven't heard of any heavier bullets, but that explains why the 20gr bullets seem to work the best in Savage rifles.

Those rifles are made for that bullet wieght. You are not going to find anything heavier.

It seems counter intuitive to slow down a fast, hard hitting, high energy cartridge like the .17hmr. The only reason I can think of you want a heavier bullet is for longer ranges? .17hmr isn't the best long range rifle, it is only a rimfire after all.
