    Very accurate I've owned 2 love them and can't go wrong. And I think the t-22 is the best chassis for the ruger. Get the tactical 10/22 it comes with a flash hider. Its only about 20$ more than the stock one

        300 buck stock on a 200 buck rifle... Usually people say that wont equal a 500 buck rifle when you go to sell it, but its Troy so who knows.

        If you are dead set on a tacticool 10/22 maybe and Archangel stock would be enough? Its a lot cheaper

        Id say a dedicated 22lr AR clone or a real AR15 with a 22lr conversion would be a better bet

          That applies to a lot of things, it also happens to be a moot point if you don't sell your guns. I don't buy guns that I'd consider selling any time soon, as such resale value is never something I've considered when purchasing or "upgrading" a gun.

            Its not just about when you go to sell it... you are still not getting a rifle that functions like an AR. It really does no good for training because the controls are not the same at all.

            But hey buy an over priced piece of metal if that's what floats your boat

              Eh. I'm not a fan. Why? Price to start off with. I'd take a Tapco stock over Troy or ProMag or other tactical 10/22 stocks. The Tapco can be had for less than a $100. Also, the SR-22 is basically the same thing, only the Troy has what appears to be a non-removable handguard and a longer built in top rail.

              Begin Rant \\

              I don't understand why stocks for the 10/22 are so damn expensive. It seems almost every new stock is more expensive than the last. That new HK stock is like $300, and the friggin' Krinker Plinker is $400 if you can still find one. I refuse to buy a stock that cost more than 1/2 of what I paid for the rifle itself. Trick out your 10/22 all you want, but I think money is better spent on replacing parts or simply building from the ground up. And remember at the end of the day, it's still a .22LR, even if it looks like an M4 or AR.

              // End rant

              As for accuracy of a 10/22, bone stock and without optics, even the carbine version from a standing position will get you a kill shot from a good distance.

                Now on a note: Tactplinker brings up a good point the SR-22 is already made and it will take milspec parts on the frame.
