Best distance to sight in a .22 AR

The obvious answer is to sight it in at the distance I shoot at the most, but I haven't settled at what that'll be.

However, I remember something about zeroing .223 in at 50 yards so that it's also zeroed in at 200 yards.

Does the same kind of thing apply to .22? Is there some kind of "magic distance" that makes it easier to gauge a .22's drop at longer distances?

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the newbish question.

For a general sight in on .22lr, I use 50 yards.

          I have a 15-22 with a Primary Arms M3 clone, and it's zeroed for 50 yards.

At 25 yards it's an inch low, and at 7 yards four inches low (Federal 36gr bulk).

I zerod mine at 50y because there is neglible drop at 25y when I have to shoot at an indoor range.
