Ruger MK III 22/45; optics recommendations?

Hey there folks! Just bought a new Ruger 22/45 (5.5 blued bbl) and was looking for optics recommendations.

My plan is to use this for a fun range/plinking pistol; but would take it out for rabbits/squirrels during off-season scouting.

Any thoughts on red-dot and/or long-relief scopes? The only optics I'm familiar with are mid-range (Zeiss Conquest, Burris Signature) rifescopes for my long guns.

Price range is variable; but probably wouldn't want to go over $300 or so...

    All help is much appreciated!
    Thanks!

Thanks for the quick replies! I really like the size/weight/features of the Burris; will have to see if I can find both these in stock somewhere to get some hands-on time...

Bud's gun shop has the Fastfire with mount for $186, not a bad price.

Almost bought a Fastfire ($190) but was also considering the Primary Arms Micro Green Dot Reflex ($75)

I ended up going with the Bushnell TRS-25 for $80. Very happy with it so far. Google it, read the reviews, watch some youtube videos and I think you'll probably end up leaning in that direction as well.

                Love my Fastfire:

The two mounting screws that came with the MKII mounts were a bit short. I called Burris and I had longer ones in two days.

Kgcabs; that's a great look; was wondering what the profile of the fastfire was on the pistol.

All; this is the OP; thanks for everyone's input. I think, after reading your responses, and seeing reviews on the web I'm going to go with the Burris. Just gotta wait for my MK III to get out of jail, then the next paycheck

Can't wait to whup some rabbits; I'll post a report when I get it sorted!!!

                      Thanks again,
                      -Kevin
