    Ruger 22/45 Removable Grips

I want this pistol, does anyone know if it's approved for us here in Cali.

Ruger Model # is P512MKIIIRP I think, and it's the bull barrel Cocobolo grips, but will take most 1911 grips.

    Sadly, it is not: http://www.ruger.com/products/2245Bu...ets/10140.html

On the bottom right it says: CA Approved - NO

Just buy a Mark III bull barrel and call it a day. It'll be better in the long run anyway.

My neighbors husband passed many years ago and she has a mint condition Mark II that she let me borrow last time I went shooting, and I'm pretty sure I will be able to buy it from her or do some handyman project for her for trade. I just like the look of the 22/45 better than the "Luger" looking Mark II, but I love the way it shoots. Going to see if I can borrow it this weekend when I go shoot my new Marlin 795

I did the grip mod on my standard 22/45 along with quite a few other mods a couple days ago. It was pretty straight forward and only cost me $28 when it was all said and done.

I also removed the magazine disconnect system, polished/stoned sear&hammer, installed pre/post travel set screws on the stock trigger, did a "slingshot" bolt release mod, and threw on a TRS-25. Seriously this gun is golden and I'm loving the fact that I was able to do all the work myself. Way more satisfying that way.

The photo attached isn't my gun but mine looks exactly the same, just with set screws in the trigger (like the volquartsen trigger).

Do yourself a favor and pick up the standard 22/45 from Turners for $250 and give it a go.
