BDM Gen 4 Steel Lipped Mags

I ran some rounds through the steel feed lip mag tonight.

The mags are very easy to load. Not sure whats different, but to me, they loaded very well, even compared to the first generation. Very smooth loading and feeding.
I loaded and unloaded them by hand several times. No need for a thumb assist.
I was home so I took my suppressed 5" AR .22 and popped the mag in. More snug of a fit than the first generation with a positive snap when seated. Very little movement.

One load chambered and fired. Then snap. No round in the chamber. I popped the mag out and could see no issue. The design of the BDM tower is different from the design of the CMMG. The followers are also different lengths. The BHOA would set on top of the rounds, keeping them from feeding.

I found the problem. On my BHOA, the tongue that the follower pushes up on is just a few thoudabths too long. Just taking that off should allow the mags to feed with the BHOA installed. The BHOA will still not operate automatically, but can be left in while using BDM mags. Others have reported the BHOA did not cause a feeding problem.

BHOA removed. The mag feed like hot butter. Very smooth feeding. It fed as fast as I could pull the trigger, first to last round.
I will run it this weekend on a couple projects I have to test.

Overall impression, it's a well made and thought out mag. Little touches like the positive detent for the mag catch, the better material, and of course, the steel feed lips, make it perfect addition to your AR .22 mag stash.

I believe they are selling at $24.95.
Removable steel feed tower. Nylon/polymer shell

      Very easy to load.
