    Barrel options for S&W 15-22?

Does anyone know of any aftermarket barrel options for the 15-22 yet? Also is there any way to even buy extra factory barrels? price? I haven't seen or heard of anyone buying, selling or making barrels for this yet, but i'd figure by now someone would be?

I'm pretty sure "no". I know there's two different factory barrels right now(regular M&P and their performance model). You might want to email them if they can sell you the Performance one but I haven't read much comparisons between the two. Beats me if it would be worth it.

yeah that's what i figured. I just sent an email to S&W, see if they reply. I just didn't know for sure if someone wasn't already making them and i just didn't find them.

I know there's some people making smaller accessories for this thing(dust cover, barrel shrouds, A2 clamp on sights) but nope, never heard of barrels being made for it, yet.

Just for anyone that's wondering besides me, I found out that you can buy the barrels direct from S&W for $79.71 + 6.50 Shipping. They don't sell the "performance" barrels seperately though.

Lame they won't sell the performance barrel. They already sold us the original you think they would want you to spend more money and upgrade. If anybody hears of anyone building 15 22 barrels please bump this thread. Shouldn't be too long before someone gets going on this.

Can't imagine it would be too difficult to buy a .224 blank and turn it to the right profile ... it's on my list of projects, when I (eventually) get my lathe set up ...

I think you're asking in the wrong forum. Go to the S-W forums:

Does anyone know where I could find a flash hider/muzzle brake for the M&P 15-22???? Don't really NEED one, but the barrel just doesn't look right being bare.

They have plenty of options like having your barrel properly threaded and buying a screw on flash hider to bolt on options.

IMO it would be a waste of money. The "upper" is plastic and part of the barrel mounting system is to sandwich that plastic between the barrel nut and a flange on the barrel itself. It's rather wobbly and there's no way to make it truly stable.

If you want a more accurate 22 AR you're better off building one from scratch. The 15-22 is best for pure plinking (ie. magazine dumps against pumpkins & watermelons), not precision shooting.
