Scope Mounting Issues on Ruger 10/22

So, I picked up a Ruger 10/22 recently and have a scope I want to mount to it.

I also bought these rings based on a recommendation from Midway: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct...tnumber=122288

So, the scope is listed as having a 1" tube and the rings are listed as being 1" but when I try and bolt the top of the ring on, it doesn't fit.



Now I've never mounted a scope before, but something doesn't seem right.

Any ideas?

No problem. It will flex a bit, just push a bit harder.
