Marlin 795 Sights

Swung by Turners today to pick up a Marlin 795. They are currently on sale for $134.99 and Marlin is offering a $25 rebate. Too good a deal to pass up, IMO.

I would like to upgrade the sheet metal sights and stumbled on www.Tech-Sights.com website. For $69, I think these may be a pretty good deal, but I would like to get some first hand opinions.

Worth the $? Better options?

Worth the money; yes!
Tech Sights are the recommended and used heavily by the Appleseed shooters.
I have one for my Marlin 795 and I like them

Just make sure that the receiver dovetail and front sight are straight or else you will have hard time with your techsights.

Some of the new ones have some quality issues, particularly dovetail and canted front sight issues. The one that I got had the front sight pointed to the 11 o'clock position. I installed tech sights on it but had a hard time sighting it in. I sent it in under warranty and they really didn't do anything to it, still had the same issue. I ditched the techsights and went with a 4x scope. It's a very accurate gun BTW.

When I went to pick mine up after the 10-day I gave it the once over before taking it home and noticed that the sights were crooked. (The iron sights on these rifles are the one thing I can't rave about, little hard to see sometimes)

They took that one back and sent for a new one, and gave me the spare magazines that I was about to buy for my trouble. This was at Turner's, BTW.

Can't say for certain but I think it was Turner's, 'cuz I remember them saying they would check the warehouse to see if they had another one in stock.

WOW, great information. I just started the 10 day wait yesterday on a Marlin 795 for my son to shoot. They did not have one there to look at but it will be there when the 10 days are up, I will give it a good looking over when I get it. Thanks for the info Guys!

I've had my Marlin 795 for less than a month and I've put in more than 1000 rounds with iron sights so far.

It took me a little while to get used to it, but I'm able to reliably hit bowling pin silhouette targets with the iron sights at 60+ yards.

The front sight post is quite large, but if you take time to get to know where the shots place at various distances, you can become quite accurate. It becomes less of a scientific guaranteed shot, but after shooting enough rounds you start to develop a second sense about what feels right.

Tech sights

Put them on my and my wifes Marlin, worked great. But, on mine, even though I used lock-tite, the mounting screw spun and could not be tightened. I contacted Tech-Sights and they IMMEDIATELY replaced it NC!

I highly recommend the Tech Sights. I have one on my Marlin and it's a world's difference from the stock sights. It's surprising how accurate the rifle is.
