    Ruger 10/22 30 round mags.

Now this is my brother in laws gun, but I am the one that shoots it.

My brother in laws dad bought him the 10/22 in the mid 80s and also gave him two 30 round Eaton mags. They have tabs/holes to stick em together to have a quick change dual mag set up. I wanted to know if these were legal or not? I heard that since it was before 1990 its was ok, and that since it was a .22 it was legal to own and use the hi-cap mag. Should I go ahead and use them or tear them down to rebuild kits?

if you had them in your possession before 2000, you are legal to have and use them. now the "hi-cap" in regards to .22s are that it can be over 10 if its a tube fed .22.

He is fine to possess and use them since they were acquired prior to the ban.

He can also allow you to use it when in his immediate presence such as at the range. He can not however give it to you, sell it to you or loan it to you (outside of his immediate presence).
