Need help dating a Remington 514

I recently bought a Remington 514 and am having trouble finding a production date. I know that they were made before a serial number was required and were stamped with a barrel code. I have looked at the barrel code date code and cannot figure out when it was produced. Maybe i'm just missing something but any help would be appreciated. The barrel date code is in the link below. The barrel code is K 31. Thank you in advance.

I'm guessing that is the wrong #s that you are looking at. Should be 2 letters on the left hand side down near the receiver, might even be below the wood. I've seen a few old Remingtons and they are clearly marked, usually.

Thats what I was thinking. What would the K 31 be than. I will pull the stock off and look.
