Walther PPK/s

just saw a walther ppk/s in .22lr on another forum and i must say that I am in love.
I had a few questions though, one is, is it on the roster (basically can I buy it through ffl without having to play silly games)
does anyone know what the mag capacity is (it looks like about 8rounds but im not sure)
where I might be able to get one (looked on wathers website, they dont have it listed in .22lr)

I think they have been out of production for 10 or 11 years. They are real nice, I'd love to find one.

If you don't want to "play silly games" then you will need to find one that qualifies as a "curio or relic". C&R handguns are exempt from the Roster, so you can have them shipped to your local FFL for transfer to you.

There are Walther PPK pistols in .22LR caliber that are on the C&R list...

Walther, model PP and PPK semiautomatic pistols, in all cals., mfd. in France and marked "MANURHIN".

It's a PPK and not a PPK/S, but probably close enough...



Otherwise you can look for one that somebody is selling local to you and do a PPT with them at a gunshop. PPTs are exempt from the Roster as well.

The older ppk is going to be pricey. I don't know the round count on them but the more modern PPK/s in 22 LR is 10 round magazines. My grief is that getting a second or third magazines is like buying a farm - about $100 for a dang magazine. I have yet to get a second.

They are not on the list; and as noted I don't think in production. Not sure I'd want a S&W made one anyway (current makers of the Walther). Mine is from 1980 I learned and bought it through the forums just a few months ago. Patience....I've seen two on the forums since I've been here. Remember it has to be in CA already. If not you might try the single shot conversion with a dealer friendly to that equation.

What a coincidence! I'm the owner of that PPK/S. Unreal to me what you California residents have to go through.

I'm really surprised there isn't a black market of people bringing guns in the state, and laundering them through residents.

That said, if posting in some want ads doesn't produce one, I'd look into C&R ones. Someone posted a mass seller on the Walther message board a while back. They were all blued (and more PP's than PPK's), but a pretty nice one could be had for 7-800. And agreed, Ripon -I am not buying extra magazines at $100 a pop.
